WHY EAT LESS, MOVE MORE DOESN'T WORK

Yes, in order to lose weight you must be in a calorie deficit. However, long periods of severe calorie restriction will eventually backfire and you'll stop losing weight because without enough fuel (calories), your metabolism will slow down to help your body conserve energy. This is called metabolic adaptation and it's a protective mechanism designed to help you survive in times of famine (i.e., stress).

If you've spent years going on and off diets, restricting calories, and/or doing hours of cardio your metabolism has definitely taken a hit. Not only that but you're probably dealing with low energy, cravings, and hormone imbalances.

When we work with women who can't lose weight or their weight loss has stalled, we usually start them on what is called a "Reverse Diet". Basically, instead of cutting more calories and spending more time exercising, we gradually add calories back in and reduce cardio. This is a great way to restore your metabolism, boost your energy levels, decrease cravings, and renew your sense of motivation to keep working on your health and fitness goals.

We understand this might sound a little scary or even a bit counterintuitive but when it's done correctly, reverse dieting is a powerful tool that can help you achieve your fat loss goals.

But this is just the beginning!
